LEARN TO WORK IN A GROUP
Training course for teachers, educators and animators
Premise:
The proposal is born out of the needs expressed by the groups met in the past who were looking for a programme to help the groups with which they worked to develop cooperative behavior.
It is also born from the awareness that it is not enough just to propose cooperative games to change the atmosphere of the class. Each game has specific objectives and develops some social and personal skills: it is therefore necessary to know well which stage the group we are following,is going through and have a range of games to propose that helps the group not to remain anchored at a certain stage of development.
We have therefore combined the life stages of a group with the approprite activities for each phase and a book was born [1] with the following proposal attached, which tries to give an answer to the lack of teachers' skills on the dynamics of a working group . In fact, the class or other groups are not a sum of individuals present, but a whole with similar characteristics and different from the whole of its participants, with dynamics often independent of the individual. Furthermore, each group is always a group of work and learning, because it always comes together to do something: that is, the group is born and structured around a "task". In carrying out this task the group can apply work methods based on competition or it can be helped to develop specific skills that lead to a real group work, in which everyone feels represented and feels to have an important role.
To learn to work together the theoretical schemes are not enough, we need to help the members of the group to create specific skills: ludic activity ican facilitate the learning process because it combines fun and seriousness.
